Actually, only part of "Tangram Set 1" was used in Risky Business. Also used were parts of "Exit" (from the album of the same name), "Force Majeure" and "Cloudburst Flight" from Force Majeure, and some new music.

All this talk about Tangerine Dream music being used in movie soundtracks brings up a question: There are a lot of movie soundtracks with Tangerine Dream music and while some, like "Thief" and "The Sorcerer", use original music that was composed for the film and does not appear on any other Tangerine Dream album, others, like "Risky Business", use music that appeared on albums like "Tangram" and "Exit" that were done a couple of years before. I have a friend who is trying to get the complete collection of TD's recorded music. It would be useless for him to get the "Risky Business" soundtrack since he already has all of the music on other albums, but the "Thief" and "Sorcerer" soundtracks are essential for his collection. My question is, which soundtrack albums should he buy and which ones are useless to him? The old pieces are often retitled when they are used in a movie, so you can't usually tell just by looking at the album covers. Only someone who has seen the movie or heard the soundtrack album, and is familiar with their other albums can tell for sure. -- Jeff Richardson, DCIEM, Toronto (416) 635-2073 {linus,ihnp4,uw-beaver,floyd}!utcsrgv!dciem!jeff {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!dciem!jeff
