I'm doing a research paper on the Aleswhite problem that occured on Lake Michigan and/or Lake Huron in the late 60's through 70's. At that time these fish were dying in large numbers and lay on the beaches so thick you could not even sit on the beach. Eventually ways were found to solve the problem of the fish dying and to clean up the resulting mess, and that is what I'm trying to find out about. Does anyone know or have access to any research or papers done on this subject? According to rumor, much of the research was done at the University of Michigan, and I would love to talk with someone from there in the biology or whatever department. Anyone else having information is requested to PLEASE let me know as soon as possible. The paper is due in November, so I don't have much time.
