[net.micro.trs-80] strings in model 100 basic

Anybody out there know how the model 100 handles strings?
In particular, does "a"+"b" use up free space?  Is there a
garbage collector?  Where are remarks kept?  Can I peek
around and find my own remarks while the program is
running?
