I'm debating whether to buy a CP/M disk for my model 4. Eventually I would like to buy some spreadsheet and database software. First of all, will programs such as dBase II and Mulitplan run on this, and secondly, is it worth getting the CP/M or is there adequate software to run on TRS-DOS ?? Can anyone supply me with some insight ? Much appreciated in advance, John Koons {...allegra!princeton!eosp1!koons}

Although I can't speak from direct experience the general impression I get is the Radio Shack CP/M Plus for the 4 is nice, but wont read more than a few different disk formats. Also, don't expect RS to give all kinds of support for it; they will give you the name of a vendor which sup- ports some kinds of software for CP/M Plus. On the other hand, I have heard very good things about Montezuma Micro's CP/M for the Model 4; so you may want to check it out. About TRSDOS, although 1.3 for the III was given a well-deserved bad rap, 6.X is a much improved series and I have found it to be very adequate for my needs; but I can't say for sure if it will meet the requirements you specify. R/S sells Multiplan for the Model 4, and I believe they have some kind of data base but I don't believe its dbase II. I hope that info is of help. David Whitney ctvax!uokvax!uok!dwhitney
