Could someone at trsvax, or anyone who knows, for that matter, tell me when
TRSDOS 6.2 will be available? I have been pestering the people at the local
computer centers at the rate of about once a week or so, and every time I
ask them about 6.2 they try to give me the 6.1.2 release they sent out by
mail some months ago....Also, could someone give me some insight into
a supposed "Model 200" with 750K bubble memory and flip-screen, to be
released in November? (This is a RUMOR..and I am asking you folks a trsvax
to give the straight scoop............)

Are you aware that the 6.2 version will not be free ?

I would like to add my plea for that too, also does anyone know of a patch
to TRSDOS 6.anything to make it work with double sided drives?.

As to a model 200 - you don't seriously expect trsvax to rise to your bait
do you?. After all, much of Tandys success has been due to keeping a tight
security cover on new releases until they had them in the warehouse and could
deliver. Look what happened to Osborne when they announced a new model
coming in 6 months time, everybody said why buy now - if I wait I can get
a much better model, result - bankruptcy.

Yes, I understand the manual+disk will cost $39.95. I also hear that
TRSDOS 6.3 will be out early next year. It obviously never stops....

Also, I hear rumblings of a thing called a Model 5A....trsvax, are you
listening??

Oops! I left out a tiny bit of info in my last note on booting TRSDOS
6 on a double sided diskette. In addition to the stuff I mentioned,
you have to make sure that SYS0/SYS is all on side 1 (one based) of
the diskette. In TRSDOS 6.0.x and 6.1.x, the driver cannot cope with
that file existing on side 2 or spanning onto side 2. One can cure
this by building the double sided diskette using these steps.

1.	Format a disk as a double sided diskette.

2.	Give the command BACKUP SYS0/SYS:s :d (S)
Don't use the COPY command for this. BACKUP also
copies the system boot track when it detects that it
is moving SYS0/SYS. If there are no flaws, SYS0/SYS
should end up on cylinder 1, head 1. (You can use the
        FREE command to check this.)

3.	Then type BACKUP $:s :d (S,I,NEW)
This will copy the remaining files to the disk wherever
	they will fit.

The salesman at my local RS Computer store told me today that the
release date for TRSDOS 6.2 would be Sept. 15.

Has any one got the new Computer Catalog yet???

"TRSDOS 6.2 is available separately (catalog number 26-316) for $39.95.
Ed Juge, Director of Market Planning, Radio Shack, Fort Worth, TX"

from Page 12 of "80 Micro", October 1984 in a letter to the editor.

By the way what is so great about 6.2. Is it any better than 6.0 PLUS
from Micro-Systems. I have 6.0 PLUS and it is great. It restores all
those neat things that were on 1.3 plus it has a disk zapper, a directory
zapper, disk map, unkiller, basic sort command, global editing, label
addressing, cross referencer, III to 4 converter, input at ..., and
editor enhancements like duplicate line.
It lists for $49.95 but is discounted for $39.50.
