we have XENIX 3.00 on Radio Shack Model 16b (I think == Tandy 6000) and can't get rid of formfeed at the beginning of anything one prints. According to the manuals, setting BANNERS=0 in /etc/default/lpd should not give anything at the beginning, but it still gives a formfeed; it does get rid of the banner page though. The application packages such as SCRIPSIT manages to get around it so I think the problem is with "lpr" or whatever it calls. I have to do a cat ...>/dev/lp whenever I have to print on single sheets and that's very often. Anyone facing the same problem? I would appreciate any help; I hope it is not a bug which is fixed in XENIX 5.00 !! we still haven't got the development system for 3.00 (supposodely it's back-ordered). thanks in advance. -- Sunil Podar SUNY at Stony Brook CSNET: podar@sbcs.csnet ARPA: podar%suny-sb.csnet@csnet-relay.arpa UUCP: {allegra, hocsd, philabs, ogcvax} !sbcs!podar
