[net.games.go] hello, and thanks for all the fish

jrb@wdl1.UUCP (John R Blaker) (12/27/83)

hello fellow kyu-levels.

i am fascinated by the idea of a net on go, but don't know what we can do in
ascii? located in berkeley, but haven't the guts to go to the berkeley go
club (yet) as my understanding is that they are all much better than i.

not ego, but i find i learn fastest from (1) books and (2) players better
than i but not too much better, as otherwise i don't understand what it
is i'm learning.

one thing that might be of interest. several people i know (including my host)
have been discussing the possibility for a tetrahedral go. each tetrahedron has
4 vertices, of course, and if you "tile" space with tetra patterns, each vertex
has a huge number of direct neighbors. i suspect this of being
unworkable, but it's interesting.

oh well...never peep when you can poke...
