    Remember this problem?

	A  B  C  D  E  F  G  H  J  K

Black = @  White = O  Answer moves = 1, 2, 3, ...
----------------------------------------

    It looks at first that black has fewer liberities then white does... I
count 3 for black and 4 for white. Also white is one move away from having an
eye. So you say to me "black is dead" and play elsewhere? Look again!

    By playing down at 1 black gains two liberities. First the extra one on
the edge, remember he uses up one by playing 1, and then the approach move
necessary for white to kill the four stones in the corner! Remember the white
must play at K-7 sometime to before playing the last stome on the side.

    After black 1 the best that white can muster is 2 after which black comes
in for the kill by playing at 3. Look for your self that there is no way that
white can gain two eyes without killing black.
