The First United States Go Congress will be held on August 10 - 18, 1985 at Western Maryland College, Westminster, Maryland, under the auspices of the American Go Association. The Congress will include a lightning tournament, a five-round main tournament, a concurrent handicap tournament, and a 13X13 tournament. A week-end tournament will incorporate the Eastern championships and will determine the World Amateur Championship Eastern contender. (There will be no Labor Day Tournament in New York in 1985.)
