I always seem to get such goodies in the mail! Today's treat was the most entertaining mail-order catalog I've seen in a long time: National Rutabaga Company's collection of wearable art. National Rutabaga Company puts out a collection of unconventional bandannas for unconventional people: children, feminists, nature lovers, gays, Buddhists, incurable romantics, pacifists, and those of us with an odd sense of humor. A few of their subjects include: clowns, humpback whales, Ladies Against Women ("I'd rather be ironing"), Japanese erotic art, angels, garlic, Campfire Boys of America, babies, anonymous foremothers, pixies, the Gay Nineties, bighorn sheep, and what cockroaches have to say about nuclear annihilation ("Nope, the bomb ain't our problem!"). Whether you like to wear bandannas, are looking for an unusual gift, or simply want a belly laugh, you might consider ordering NRC's free catalog. The address: National Rutabaga Co. 20400 W. Fifth Sonoma, CA 95476 I might add that you'll probably find the prices a pleasant surprise, too. [Obligatory disclaimer: I am not now and never have been in any way connected with the National Rutabaga Company.] --- Prentiss Riddle ("Aprendiz de todo, maestro de nada.") --- {ihnp4,seismo,gatech,ctvax}!ut-sally!riddle
