[net.nlang.celts] Book of Kells

I'm interested in knowing where this book is currently, and whether there
are any books about it that contain color reproductions of a significant
amount of it.

The Book of Kells is at the library of Trinity College, Dublin. There
are color reproductions of most, if not all, of the Book of Kells available
in the $50 - $75 range. Some less expensive versions are also available but
these include less material and the reproductions are not always in color.
These can probably be obtained from the Keshcarrigan Bookstore,
90 West Broadway, NY, NY (212) 962-4237 or from Facsimile Books, 5th Avenue &
55th St., NY, NY (212) 581-2672. Some other old illuminated manuscripts are:

	Book of Ballymote
	Book of Deer
	Book of Durrow
Book of Invasions (Leabhar Gabhala - pronounced Lau'-er Ga-wal'-ah)
	Book of Leinster (pronounced Len'-ster)
Book of the Dean of Lismore
Book of the Dun Cow (Leabhar na h-Uidre) so called because the binding
was made from the hide of a famous prize bull.

This list should NOT be regarded as a complete list of ancient Celtic
illuminated manuscripts.
