The 30th Annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games and
Gathering of Scottish Clans will be held this weekend
(July 13 & 14) in MacRae Meadows in Linville, N.C.( U.S. 221
and the Blue Ridge Parkway).

These games are the largest games and gathering of the clans
in North America(not to mention one hell of a party!) and are
a great place for researching your Scottish ancestry or just
enjoying Scottish heritage. If you're a track star, come on out!
The Grandfather Mountain Marathon is pretty well recognized as
the toughest certified marathon course in the U.S., second only
to Pikes Peak in difficulty.

Campsites are available on the Mountain or in nearby Linville
or Banner Elk. Motel space may be scarce at this late date but
may be available too. The Ceilidh's(Kay-lee's) will be in
Hayes Auditorium in Lee McRae College in downtown Banner Elk.

For those of you that can make it, Ceud Mile Failte(100,000 Welcomes)!
For those of you that can't, next year's dates will be July 11 & 12, 1986.
