Hello All, On noticing all the commotion relating to this newsgroup, I decided to check out the TV show. I had been ignoring it all this time since it plays here opposite the 11 PM news. Anyhow, I decided to forego my News fix and watch the show around 2 weeks ago. Since then, by flipping around the channels, I have managed to catch around 4 complete stories. My question is basically -- Who is Dr. Who? In the episode I watched tonight (Terror of the Zygons) he specifically states "I am not Human". If so, what are his origins? The Tardis seems to be some sort of Space Time machine. If so, why does it look like an antique telephone booth? All in all, I think that this is slightly superior to my other perennial favourite - Star Trek. The characters are more believable, displaying all human foibles including stupidity. The special effects could use some work, but perhaps I'm missing something by watching in B & W. Anyhow, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -- Binayak Banerjee {allegra | astrovax | bpa | burdvax}!sjuvax!bbanerje
