[net.tv.drwho] Dalleck Dolls???

bnp@ihldt.UUCP (Bruce Peters) (01/27/84)

I remember hearing some time ago that at one time it was
possible to purchase small toy Dallecks in Great Britian. From what
I heard, the toys were driven by a battery and would move around
saying "Exterminate! Exterminate!" in typical Dalleck fashion.

I have never seen, or heard anything more about these toys here in
the States, but with the ever growing number of Dr. Who fans around,
I would think there might be a market for these little critters. (Sure
beats ____ out of a Smurf!!)

I therefore address this to those net readers in the UK: If
it is possible to still get these toys, could you perhaps provide some
information on them. Price, and an address to contact are the first
things necessary. If you know of anything else useful in getting them,
please include that.

P.S. Maybe these are in fact baby REAL Dallecks and we are falling for a
sinister Davrosian plan for universal control??!!

I saw such Dalek toys at the 20 year Celebration Convention
in Chicago in Nov. It turns out there are distributors for
unimaginably many Dr. Who -related things (including much
garbage). The ones at the conference were all
US-based. There were 2 sizes of dalek toys: the ones that
"talked" were about 6-8 inches high, and cost the rape-away
price of $50.00 . Here is an address to get on a mailing
list advertising Dr. Who things like this, although I can't
remember if these people had the Dalek toys:
