[net.tv.drwho] Dr. Who - Massive Doses

	Hi Fans!

The North Carolina Center for Public Television
has been very kind to Dr. Who addicts by showing a half
hour every weekday at 2300 hrs (John Pertwee), 1.5 to
2 hrs every Saturday at 1400 hrs (Tom Baker) and 1 hr on
Sundays at 1900 (Peter Davis??). Too bad, Dan Rather!

I have a question, though, What happened to
Romana? Did she regenerate at sometime? (Was she a time
lord??) When did she leave the doctor??

Also, what happened to K9? I saw an episode where
K9 decided to stay on Gallifrey with Lana(?), but at the end
the Doctor brought a box out of storage marked 'K9 mark 2'
	or some such.

First, the story of Romana. When the White Guardian sent the Doctor
on the quest for the Key to Time, he sent an assistant, fellow Time
Lord Romanavoratrelunder (Romana). The episode was "The Ribos Operation".
At the end of the Key to Time series, she decided to regenerate into
a less obnoxious (although skimpier) companion. She actually regenerated
at the start of "Destiny of the Daleks".
She finally left the Doctor to remain with the Tharils in
"Warrior's Gate".
K-9 Mark I was given to the Doctor by Professor Marius in "The
Invisible Enemy". He remained in the show until "The Invasion of Time",
when he decided to stay with LEELA on Gallifrey. The Doctor, not to be
without a sidekick, immediately uncrated K-9 Mark II, which was a
slightly better model. This K-9 remained through almost three seasons,
leaving with Romana in "Warrrior's Gate".

Consider yourself lucky to be able to watch three different Doctors
at once. Up here in NY, we are limited to two episodes a day, and
they all have Tom Baker in them! Apparently, the distributor, who
has 20 years worth of episodes, is always pushing the Tom Baker ones.
