[net.tv.drwho] Assorted robots

hazard@ihuxe.UUCP (Bryant S. Hazard) (03/20/84)

If it's robots you are interested in, don't forget the following:

	K-9
"Robots of Death" (need I say more?)
The marionette in "Talons of Weng-Chiang"
Commelian (sp?) in "The King's Demons".

The assortment of robots the doctor has encountered is endless.

The "marionette" in the Talons of Weng-Chieng (sp?) was not a puppet
or a robot. I believe it was called the "Peking Homonculus (sp? again)".
I also believe it was "built"
around the cerebral cortex of a pig. Perhaps,
it is a robot depending on the definition of robot. The PH certainly
violates the first law of (for) robotics (robots), however.
That bit about not hurting a human.
The finale of that episode will air here this week, so we can find out
conclusively (unless someone knows off hand).

Another Weng-Chieng note, that episode PROVES that we and our English
friends only remotely speak the same language. Jeepers, you've got to
pay close attention to the "Cockneys" to follow the story.

Wish I was with the Filipino army during the final assault on Reykjavik.
