Who was the FIRST Timelord ( not the first Dr., the first Timelord )? We have been trying to get the definitive answer to this, and there seems to be some disagreement involved. Rasilon (sic?) is accepted as "The Father of all Timelords", but I seem to recall something about Omega ( first appeared in "The Three Doctors", later appeared in "The Arc of Infinity" ) being the first Timelord. My memory of "The Three Doctors" is fuzzy, but didn't it go something like this: Omega of Gallifrey, in some way had gone through a black hole. His sacrifice allowed the people of Gallifrey to control the energy of it giving them their power ( The Eye of Harmony? ). Everyone assumed Omega had perished and was considered a hero. In "The Three Doctors", it is discovered that Omega did not perish, but was transported into an "Anti-matter" universe, that he wanted to return to the "real" universe, and that he wasn't a very nice person at all. In "Arc of Infinity", Omega again tries to re-enter the "real" universe ( this time courtesy of a treasonous Timelord on Gallifrey ). Given that type of background, I would think that makes him a strong candidate for the first Timelord. Does anyone have a more detailed description of Omega, and perhaps how Rasilon fits into this ? /ed featherston/ DEC Advanced Semiconductor Development Group (DEC E-NET) ROLL::FEATHERSTON (UUCP) {decvax, ucbvax, allegra}!decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-roll!featherston (ARPA) featherston%roll.DEC@DECWRL.ARPA featherston%roll.DEC@Purdue-Merlin.ARPA "Excuse me, but are you sure this planet is supposed to be here?"

The earliest know persons from Gallifrey (Due to "The Three Doctors", "The Deadly Assasin" (sp?), "The Invasion of Time" and "Arc of Infinity") seem to be Rassilon and Omega. Now, the legend has it that Rassilon contained the Eye of Harmony which gave the Time Lords their power of Time Travel. Apparently, Omega helped in that mission. From what I gathered from these four stories, there seems to be a division even on Gallifrey as to which Time Lord is the First Time Lord. Reason for last statement: In "The Three Doctors", Doctor #3 states that Omega was one of his childhood heros. Most people on Gallifrey talk of Rassilon as the greatest of the Time Lords. Therefore, I take the stand that neither should be considered greater or before the other (Aren't I a wishy-washy sort? 8-) ) "The Deadly Assasin" will be on in a few weeks here. I might change my mind upon seeing it again. I have very recently seen "The Three Doctors" and "Arc of Infinity", so I am more familiar with Omega at the moment. Omega was a "stellar engineer" that made the "supreme sacrifice" to fire the black hole that powers the whole of Time Lord civilization. Rasilon was the first Time Lord President. (I would assume that he was of the same time that Omega was, or shortly following after.) A Time Lord is a person from Gallifrey who graduates from one of the Academies and is a member of the one of the Colleges. Here's something - let's try to compile a list of what we know of the History of the Time Lords. We know of the war against the vampires. Also the people from the "Quest is the Quest." Also the stories of Omega and Rasillon. Also the time loop for the planet that is now the asteroid belt that was the home of the Fendahl. I'll let others continue. And try to put these in chronological order. Walt Pesch AT&T Technologies ihnp4!ihuxp!wbpesch
