One of the items in Timelord history that they are not too proud of, is the
use of the Timescoop ( "The Five Doctors" ). In ancient times, they used to
pluck beings from other worlds and times with this device, drop them in a
very desolate spot on Gallifrey ( the name "Death Zone" comes to mind, but
I'm not sure on that point ), and have them fight to the death. Rassilon
put a stop to this practice ( supposedly. In "The Five Doctors", one of the
Doctor's (Troughton) states that is what the "official" history says, but
there are rumors that the "official" Timelord history may not be a "factual"
history ).

[Of course I can control the TARDIS...] It seems to me that Rascillon (I beleive correct sp.) was the ONE who 'balanced the Eye Of Harmony'. He used the sash, an artifact of his own creation, to "put the black hole's energy in a perpetual equation against the mass of the planet [Galliphre(sp?]" This taken from the episide in which the President was shot, and the [Tom Baker] doctor blamed. I beleive that the sash "has the property of keeping the environment of the wearer in equilibrium..." Also, I seem to recall that the harnessing equiptment for the Eye Of Harmony is in the Penoptagon on Galliphre (Perhaps the hole itself?). Omega, I beleive , harnessed the energy of "a rare type ???? star remnant... that is generating the hyperbolic time contour..." This from 'The Arc Of Infinity' Such things would seem to have quite powerful effects upon space-time, etc...; as is further demonstrated by "The Masque Of Mandragala" so called because of the 'inexplicable helix energy that seems to have an intelligent entity within it'.
