[net.tv.drwho] Timelord trivia QUIZ

chris@proper.UUCP (Chris Hayes ) (05/26/84)

[Oh no, the cloister bell!]

Well, as there seems to be quite an interest
in this series (people DO have good taste!),
I have decided to make a short trivia quiz.
I will post the answers to the net if there is
sufficient interest.

1: In the episode where Adric is first met,
the doctor and Romana are in E-space.
They however, "see" themselves as being in
the death zone of Galiphre (sp?). Why?
How does this 'prove' they are in E-space.

2:	What model i.e series/type is the
	policebox TARDIS? What is 'special'
about this type of TARDIS which
K9 tells the doctor, that helps
him to defeat one of the timelord's
	ANCESTRAL enemies?

3:	What "particularly nasty" weapon
becomes a signature of the Master?
(used in several Tom Baker episodes)

4:	After regenerating (to Peter Davidson),
what quirk about Castro Valva is it
that FIRST lets the doctor know that
	something is horribly wrong with
	Castro Valva?

5:	In the episode "The Pryamids Of Mars",
	Asutek, the destroyer, contains an
	explosion by using psionic(?) powers.
In what later epsiode (Peter Davidson=doctor)
does another being do the same to
bombs dropped on it? i.e WHO does this?

Oh well, try to refrain from using those VCR's
too much. Most questions will probably be
of moderate difficulty to a Dr. Who buff.

Any comments, (is this appreciated on the net?)
are welcome, I will post answers if there appears
to be some interest within a couple weeks.

[If you *REALLY* wanna get into it, you can inculde
episode name, where it happened, etc...]

The "viewscreen" of the TARDIS operated only on positive space coordinates,
and E-space is negative space coordinates. The viewscreen apparently was
taking the absolute value of its current position, and displaying that ( the
outer reaches of Gallifrey ). When they stepped out of the TARDIS it was
fairly obvious that they were not where the viewscreen said they were.

Later in the episode, Adric "appropriated" a tube from the Starliner for
the viewscreen that enabled it to operate properly in E-space.
