I just read an article from a fellow who came to Madison, WI and saw our 12 hour Who-a-thon on our PBS station. A couple words... I orginally come from a small Minnesotian town very near the Canadian border. Our cable system up there pulls in the Canadian Broadcasting Network (CBC) which carries live the transmissions from the BBC. So...I was watching Dr. Who live from Britain quite a few years ago... ...then I moved to Madison, WI. The PBS station here is, so they claim, the second biggest in the US, in program subsriptions, population they reach, and money they rake in from their fund raisers. Anyone, because Madison's main business is importing and exporting college students, the Who attraction here is ENORMOUS. It is the top fund raiser on the PBS station here, so we frequently have those "Who-a-thons" that Eric saw. The episodes are shown as many together as necessary to make a complete story. (Right around dinner time Sunday, perfect for ordering a pizza and inviting a few friends...) We are currently into the Peter Davidson era, and - word has it - that our PBS has just acquired the Tom Pertwee era and as much as they could from the 2nd Doctor's era. (I'm afraid I forgot the fellows name...) ...anyway, Eric asked to comment so I did... ...night all.... - Rob DeMillo MACC "...earth to Rob, earth to Rob!!!"
