Here are some answers to recent questions regarding Dr. Who. 1) The theme music for Dr. Who was composed by Ron Granier, who also wrote the themes for the BBC productions of 'The Prisoner', and 'Maigret' (and others I'm sure). Performance of the theme music was by the British Radio- telephonic Workshop, early users of electronic instruments. Early episodes of Dr. Who give credit to both partys for the theme, yet the more recent shows only credit the Workshop. Incidental music for the show is (usually) composed by Dudley Simpson. 2) The Buffalo PBS station (WNED) shows Dr. Who weekdays at 6:00 pm. They ran the Peter Davison series as movies on Saturday afternoons last spring and they have promised to repeat them in the fall or winter. WNED also give time to specials during their fundraising, and will be showing Dr. Who in America, hosted by Tom Baker. Fans of Dr. Who in this neck of the woods enjoy good coverage from the local PBS station, but the station points out that the price of the show is on the rise, and more funds must be made available to procure future shows. -Steve.
