I have heard that the Doctor Who theme song is on Jean Micheal Jarre's album "Oxygen". Does anyone know anything about this? -- Kathy Moore School of Information & Computer Science, Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA 30332 CSNet: Kathy @ GATech ARPA: Kathy.GATech @ CSNet-Relay uucp: ...!{akgua,allegra,rlgvax,sb1,unmvax,ulysses,ut-sally}!gatech!kathy

"No! Not THAT button!.. Oh dear." > I have heard that the Doctor Who theme song is on > Jean Micheal Jarre's album "Oxygen". Does anyone > know anything about this? > -- > Kathy Moore Yes. I know something about this. I know that Doctor Who has a theme tune but has never had a theme song. There have been at least two versions of the theme tune. (Does anybody know when the `Disco version' was first used?) Oxygene does not have any version of any Doctor Who theme on it. If there is any connection, the most probable is that your local station talks all over the record when introducing the program. (Maybe they lost their Pink Floyd record :-). Peter Fry drux3!pcf

The "disco" version of the Dr. Who theme music was first used when John Nathan-Turner took over as producer of the show. In fact, that was his first action as producer, to change the opening visuals and music. (My source is an interview with JN-T produced by KTEH, San Jose last March) -deborah gronke bennett
