[net.tv.drwho] Info, Questions, and Answers

Here's some Doctor Who trivia for all the fans out there. I just started
netting a few weeks ago, so please accept my apologies if any of this
information has already been posted.

There's only one Colin Baker episode available in the US right now, and it's
called "The Twin Dilemma". It's currently showing in the following places:
Florida, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Colorado. I believe that it is
available as part of the final Peter Davison package. Colin Baker's episode
length has been expanded to 45 minutes per episode, which will be divided
into two 22 1/2 minute episodes for American ditribution. The twenty-
second season starts off with a two-parter called "Attack of the Cybermen".
I have no news about the second, but the third has Patrick Troughton in a
guest appearance as the second Doctor. This episode is also a three-
parter featuring the Sontarans.

The Master: The Master aquired his present form in the Tom Baker serial
"The Keeper of Traken" (the one where Nyssa first appears). He ran around
in the form of a statue (I think - I haven't seen it for quite a while)
for a while and then in the last episode he took over the body of one of
the people on the planet. Thus his present form. (This probably also
explains how they're going to allow the Doctor to live past twelve
regenerations - all he has to do is take over someone else's body. That's
also about the only way we could ever see a female Doctor.)

Now, here's an unusual phenomenon I'd like some feedback on. I have a
friend going to U of Illinois and she informs me that "most" of the
Doctor Who fans there are Physics majors. I noticed that here when I
met a person here following the same pattern - AstroPhyx major who
digs Doctor Who. Since there are so many college-affiliated netnodes
out there, most of you should be able to tell me if you've noticed the
same thing. Have you?

Wait a minute. I thought Time Lords could take on any physical shape that
they wanted to. And since they're a completely different species from us
humans, seperating them into the same sexes doesn't make much sense to me.

Anyway, I was so hoping that MTM Productions and BBC would combine forces
and give us some Dr. Who episodes with the Doctor being played by Mary Tyler
Moore. And maybe Ed Asner as the Master. The tardis would be better
decorated than it ever has. :^>
