You obviously made a mistake here. Nyssa is the brunette. She is the 
intelligent one who uses it to extricate herself and the doctor from
many a tough situation. You are speaking of Tegan, the blond, the 
screaming bubble head. Of course Nyssa is the preferable companion.
Who would want to be a fan of Tegan? I also don't understand how you
can call Tegan cute.

1.  Tegan does not now, nor never did have blond hair.  Personally, I find
    her far easier to take than Nyssa.  I am constantly surprised by the
    small facts that she comes up with.

2.  I pointedly asked my office-mate (who is a recent Dr. Who convert), which
    he preferred.  He said "the one with the punky hairstyle.  She  seems
    more level-headed".

But then, some people like brussels sprouts too.  I haven't been completely
happy with the companions since Leela and K9 left.  Life goes on (sigh).

I am soon to be on temporary reassignment to Atlanta, and need to know
