NADWAS used to be the affiliated North American branch of DWAS (Doctor Who Appreciation Society) in UK. the DWAS is the only fan society recognized by the BBC. This past October, the DWAS broke relations with NADWAS, for reasons that were not (yet) published. JCA PS. Panopticon is THE British Dr. Who convention. It had to be cancelled this year. Why? Apparently, the actors had binding contracts with Spirit of Lite, and when they designated a weekend for their Chicago convention, Panopticon (Who had designated their time earlier than SoL did) had to be cancelled.
