I have noticed a lot of traffic in this group about the upgrade to the TARDIS console which occurred during the Davidson era. This got me to wondering about the secondary control room which was seen during Tom Baker's stint as the Doctor. How was it introduced into the story? How did the Doctor explain (to Leela) his going back to the normal control room? (I seem to recall him giving some vague reason- like it was being redecorated.)
