[net.tv.drwho] Quote and question

percus@acf4.UUCP (Allon G. Percus) (01/13/85)

At the beginning of the William Hartnell title sequence, I am
aware that he used to have some sort of a quote (something
like "...until then, the must be no...") which was also
incorporated into the Five Doctors. Could someone out there
in the TARDIS inform me as to what he actually said?
BTW, a question has been constantly plaguing my mind:
Aren't there people out there in UK who could tell us what
happens in the New Colin Baker 22nd season episodes?
I'm sure many others on the net wouldn't mind in the least.

"There is nothing more absurd than a voice-
activated door-opening device" (or something like that)

No such quote was ever used in any title sequence for any doctor.
The quote you refer to came from the episode where the Doctor left
his granddaughter, Susan, behind. I can't recall the exact quote
so I won't bother trying.

Not *quite* true. The quote *was* used in the title sequence for
The Five Doctors, as the original submission implys. And an impressive
opening sequence it was, too. But from all the questions about the
new console in Davidson's last season, I guess The Five Doctors hasn't
gotten much airplay. I wonder why?

I also cannot remember the exact wording of the quote, but I have it on
video tape. Maybe this weekend I'll dig it out.

The quote in question also was at the begining of "THE FIVE DOCTORS"

The quote in question is approximately :

"One day I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must
be no tears, no regrets. Just hold fast to your beliefs and prove to me
that I am not mistaken in mine."

Our PBS station just happened to show "The Five Doctors" Saturday.
