<...> Looking thru the last Whovian Times, a few items of note: The president of the Australasian Doctor Who Fan Club resigned after seeing Colin Baker in "The Twin Dilemma", saying, in part: "John Nathan-Turner now produces Dr. Clown...Baker is an insult to the other actors who played Dr. Who. He is an insult to general viwers and especially to fans. Baker is not, and never will be, Doctor Who." It's too bad he feels that way <I liked Baker's performance in that story>, but I really wish that the (former) president of a Doctor Who fan club would stop referring to the Doctor as Doctor Who. While we're on the subject of Australia, yes, there was a big campaign a few years back for PR1ME computers using Tom Baker as a spokesman. I have a poster on my wall at home showing Baker and Lalla Ward (Romana II) presumably in a machine room somewhere. The poster says "Dr. Who meets his match...PR1ME Computer". Must have been an off day: at my school the head honcho at the computer center once "fixed" the machine by banging on the rack holding the CPU boards with a screwdriver; it worked, I guess, since the machine came back up after that and it wouldn't before. Lionheart TV, the people who distribute the show over here, are supposedly working on switching to a satellite transmission system for new and old episodes. Although they hedge a bit, it seems that there are some plans to dig up the old Troughton and Hartnell episodes and show them over here sometime in the future. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Mark Modig ihnp4!attunix!mom
