In the episode "The Five Doctors"; why was it that Doctors' numbers 2 3 and
5, did not know why they were on Gallifrey. As the first Dr. Who was there,
surely the information should have been known and passed down through the
subsequent regenerations ??

Does anybody have any ideas ?

ps. I come from England, and I have been watching Dr. Who ever since the
very first program was broadcast by the BBC. The only problem is that
I have not seen any of the Colin Baker series.

Were you aware that in England Dr. Who is shown in 30 minute episodes
once a week. I like the fact that you can see 3 or 4 weeks of programs
    in 1 evening over here.

As far as I remember from other episodes such as "The Three Doctors"
When the doctor is pulled from his time stream he can function normally
but once back in his own he loses all memory of what has happened.

Actually, the Colin Baker episodes are now being shown in 45 minute
episodes in U.K., so a station which broadcasts them in the full-length
story form will cover about 2 weeks of U.K. programming in one
evening.
