KTCA here in the Twin Cities has purchased the 24 Jon Pertwee episodes, and is really starting them off with a bang. Here's what they say in SCENE, the monthly program guide: Three and a half Doctors, six hours, four movie-length episodes--tonight's theme is transformations. The 24 newly acquired Jon Pertwee programs are introduced at 7 p.m. in "Spearhead from Space." The Tardis materializes in England near the site of a meteorite shower. The Doctor and Liz Shaw investigate some strange, blank-faced mannequins turned out by a local factory. Intent on being much more than window dressing, these creatures are instruments of the colonizing Nestenes--and the invasion must be stopped. The Pertwee Doctor becomes Tom Baker in "Robot" at 9 p.m., followed by Baker's regeneration into Peter Davison in "Logopolis" at 10 p.m. Davison's final adventure, "Caves of Androzani" (11 p.m.), ends in a glimpse of the newest doctor, Colin Davis [Davis???]. The Pertwee adventures continue Saturdays at 10 p.m. Sounds like a fun night of Doctor Who! The real killer for me is that I'll be out of town on vacation!!!
