The following message is from the Science Fiction SIG on CompuServe. I thought it would be of interest to other Dr. Who fans on the net. ............................................................................. #: 4709 Sub-topic 4 - Doctor Who Sb: #Whose Who in the North 01-Mar-85 19:29:45 Fm: Baron Greystrom 75766,2342 To: All Hello, I am an employee of a public broadcasting outlet in Fairbanks, Alaska. Mainly I am a radio person, but I am also a fan of Dr. Who. Tomorrow night I must go on TV and try to raise $20,000 to pay for a year of Dr. Who. In the process of trying to gather information which will be helpfull in that attempt I have learned (directly from Lionheart) what Dr. Who shows are available in the U.S. currently. We run the Dr. in the feature movie format rather than daily half-hours so the information I have applies only to that format. But here is what is available: 1. William Hartnell 15 features 2. Patrick Troughten 6 features 3. John Pertwee 24 features 4. Tom Baker 41 features 5. Peter Davison 19 features. The best estimate that Lionheart would give on the Colin Baker episodes is "sometime in the next couple of years." .... If it's not available in your area try talking to your local Public TV Station. But remember that the programs are very expensive, and the price is the same for all stations (that means the little hole-in-the-wall station pays the same as a large station in a major metropolitan area, something that turns many stations off to the Dr.) so be prepared to be asked for money. -- John McNamee ..!decvax!philabs!sbcs!bnl!jpm jpm@Bnl.Arpa
