[net.tv.drwho] Dr Who cancellation, mistake

brown@nic_vax.UUCP (03/07/85)

I want say that I am sorry in passing along some bummer information.

When I called my mother-in-law and talked with her, I mis-understood
what she said about the 18 month hiatus. I understood it to be that
is what happened and not a cancellation and that the hiatus was cancelled.

Well, now I admit that I was wrong. I enjoy the Dr too much to pass
along bad information.

I did call the BBC and the duty office. As of 4:55 pm, 3/7/85, London time,
the show is still on hiatus for 18 months. I also registered my complaint.
The phone number given by Jamie Green had a minor error, at least for my
part of the country. Do not dial the 1 before dialing the rest of the
number. 011-411-743-8000 will do just fine.

I guess that it is time now to do some letter writing. Nicolet Instrument
sponsors and IBM-PC bulletin board, that I am the SYSOP of. It is the
official Madison area Dr. Who Bulletin Board. All of the information that
I am receiving from the net is being relayed to the BBS. There are a lot
of Dr. Who fans on the BBS.

PS: Everyone likes to leave a quote from the Doctor, but I can't remember
the quote that Peri says to the Doctor and what his reply is. But, I will
review the tape "Attack Of The Cybermen" and tell it another time.

Eh eh. That number will get you Zurich, Switzerland. Dial instead
011-44-1-743-8000. That is the BBC, London

Oops! Murphy was looking over my fingers. The correct phone number is:
	011-441-743-8000

Sorry about that. I hope that most of you got the drift about the 1 not
being needed in the original article. I see lots of typo errors in articles.
Normally they are harmless, but this time you would have gotten Zurich.
