I wish to apologize for my stupid and boastful statement that I had a scene on videotape. There is so much more to fandom than impressive collections that I feel even mentioning this was the wrong type of reference for this network. I have gotten several envious or interested responses since then, and I wish to apologize for being so crass. There should be a seperate network for this sort of collection swapping and strutting. At any rate, the quote idea and the companion idea didn't take off. Which writers did you or didn't you like? Myself, I love Robert Sloman and Malcolm Hulke above all. The writer I really look down on is Johnny Byrne. Every single adventure he wrote (For Dr. Who, anyway) was exactly the same. The Doctor is in the TARDIS when a FORCE forces him to land on the center of the action. Meanwhile, the MAIN VILLIAN is plotting and some BAD HUMANOIDS have either joined with it, or are independently plotting. The Doctor, after a serious misunderstanding, is killed/threatened in a clash with the GOOD HUMANOIDS -End of episode 1- In episode 2, the MAIN VILLAIN launches his plan to take over the POWER SOURCE, either the Matrix, or the Source, or the Sea Base. The Doctor makes his peace with the GOOD HUMANOIDS, but at the end of the usually unveventful episode, the GOOD HUMANOIDS and the BAD HUMANOIDS betray him, and he faces death once again. In episode 3, the MAIN VILLAIN's plans come to a head, as do those of the BAD HUMANOIDS. At the end of the episode, the BAD HUMANOIDS perish because of their misdeeds, but the doctor looks up and cries, "Look! We're too late! Omega/Melkur/The Sea Devils controls the Source/Sea Base/Matrix!" In episode 4, the Doctor, with the help of a few remaining GOOD HUMANOIDS, figures out a way to destroy the MAIN VILLAIN, but doesn't want to do it as it is too drastic. In the end, though, he is forced by circumstances beyond his control to use it, thus Killing Omega/Nearly destroying the source/ Wiping out the Sea Devils with Hexachromite gas. Any objections to this summary? Who do you love/hate as a writer? Mail to me, or to this net. I'd like to start some pen friendships about Dr. Who, if possible.
