[Flames invited] Personally, I thought the version of "Planet of the Daleks" sent to New Jersey Network by Lionheart was NOT BAD AT ALL, even though it was severely edited to about 100 minutes. I still am not sure of what was cut: the story was recreated superbly. There were two maybe-non-sequitors which I noticed. First, about half an hour into the story, they did not show how Jo left from the care of the kindly old Spiridon and met up with the Doctor: at the same time, they didn't show the Doctor and one of the Thals escape from the Dalek prison -- the situation after the escape, and the situation before it were shown. However, it didn't make it worse at all; actually, it was a pleasant change to see a result without all the minute details. Second of all, near the end, after the Doctor and Co. went through to the refrigeration apparatus, and after Jo and Latep were trying to find a way in, the next scene showed everyone together (without explaining how Jo and Latep found the Doctor and the other Thals). I can't help thinking that a good part of the story might have been missed here. All in all, I would probably have preferred seeing the lost episode in B&W, but as I did not particularly care for the story anyway (I do not generally like Dalek stories), I was quite impressed at the butchering job.
