[net.tv.drwho] The latest from the "grapevine"

['ello! I'm the Doctor, and you're not.]
The following information is from issue 11 of the Council Times, the
newsletter of the Buffalo Time Council. Some of this is worth sharing.

++
+ From Ron Katz...
+
+ - Peter Davison will be appearing on a special two-hour MAGNUM P.I. It
+ will probably be the season opener. It takes place in London.
+
+ - Peter is also filming (or has filmed) a new ALL CREATURES special.
+
+ - The ever-busy Peter will also be starting a new series this fall in
+ which he plays a school teacher.
++

My comments: I hope his role on MAGNUM will be greater than Tom Baker's role
on Remington Steele last year. And as for his series (which he will be working
on until December), I figure it will last three years. :-)

Also from the Council Times (slightly edited):

++
+ In San Jose, during the [Doctor Who] Festival Tour, John Nathan-Turner
+ announced to about 1500 fans that after the 23rd season he is leaving the
+ program. Although his leaving the show is ENTIRELY his decision, his
+ leaving immediately after the 23rd [season] makes it look as though the
+ BBC pushed him out. He should, at least, stay until after the 24th season,
+ though the 25th anniversary would be better....
++

I included this to dispel any rumors that might have already started about
JNT leaving the show. The original article has no author, but I figure
that Gail (the Cosmic Cowgirl) Bennett might have had a hand (and a few
pencils :-) ) in this piece of news. (On a sidenote, Gail's letter in
Fantasy Empire #18, or a second-hand version of it, is most likely the source
of the rumor about the show being cancelled after the 23rd season.
Check it out.)

"As you listen...to the following...for your imagination's sake...turn off
the lights, if it's dark out. Or close your eyes, if it's light...(unless
you're driving, of course). And you'll see as only you can see...With that
special inner eye you have...with that special insight that makes you
differently the same."
