[net.tv.drwho] Question about "Unearthly Child"

Could someone tell me why the BBC added a new set of credits
at the end of "Unearthly Child" when it was broadcast here on
September 7?  Were the old sets in bad shape, or what?

The credits will be changed on all William Hartnell stories broadcast
in movie format because 

(1) When broadcast as separate episodes, each episode began with a
different title and ended with a teaser for the next episode

(2) They are more complete.
