[net.tv.drwho] Creation Cons: Never more aptly named?

nyssa@abnji.UUCP (nyssa of traken) (02/20/86)

In the New York City/Philadelphia area the local fan clubs are
usually quite active in providing assistance to visiting
conventions, including Creation. The Jersey Jagaroth are one
of these clubs (I founded it, with help, last June). We have
already had a run in with the organisers of Creation Conventions,
and feel that should there be another blow-up, we will withdraw
our support.

Creation Conventions are not very well organised (for the fans)
and are getting worse. The DW guest speaks for maybe 40 minutes,
then there may be an autograph line. That is the only opportunity
an attendee has to see the guest. The dealers' room is comic
oriented. This is because Creation are mainly a comic book
store in Long Island.

Against that, Creation are the only way that Louise Jameson, Mary
Tamm, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, and Mark Strickson have ever been
to the area (there are others). They are also an excellent area
for the clubs to recruit members.

The Jury of the Jagaroth is out on Creation, a verdict may be
returned soon.

(Just for reference, other area clubs are also considering withdrawing
their support, as well.)
