[net.tv.drwho] Make net.tv.drwho international

percus@acf4.UUCP (Allon G. Percus) (03/01/86)

Does any net.tv.drwho reader happen to know what motions to go
through to make this newsgroup available to Europe also?
I found out only recently that none of the British netters
are able to reach us (and thus use net.sf-lovers for getting
a word in edgeways), which seems rather senseless to me.

Should I check about this in net.news.group, or is it all
a very stupid idea to begin with?

European connections are on a subscription basis. Essentially,
mcvax (in the Netherlands) gets all the stuff, and doles it out
to everyone in Europe. Sites that want news have to pay for it,
so there isn't really much of an incentive to get the
'non work related' groups.

If your British friends want the group, they will have to convince
their site to pay for the transatlantic transmission, and pass the
word along to mcvax. That seems to be the way it works.

Regards,
