[net.tv.drwho] Tom Baker Query

ayers@convex.UUCP (03/20/86)

Okay, here's one for you:

In "The 5 Doctors" (yes, they just had pledge _month_ here for gawd's sake),
Tom Baker was blatently absent from the action, as well as from any true
impact in the plot line. Did he leave the show with bad feelings or
something? (and if so, how'd they even get him back for the cameo?)

thanks,

He didn't leave with particularly bad feelings, but he wasn't available at the
time of the filming. That cameo was stolen from Shada which was never completed
because of a strike. Also, the first doctor (W. Hartnell) was not really there
either as he had died prior to the filming. They used a lookalike for his part.

While I've brought it up (or have I?). Is this cameo where the doctor makes
his comment about Newton inventing punting?

TARDIS (that absolutely rediculous doctor is serious)
