I think it's time the net had a slogan. "USENET: a slow moving parody of itself" (credit belongs to ???) is nice, but it just doesn't cut it as a *real* slogan. I have two proposals: USENET: Where artificial intelligence is replaced by natural stupidity. OR USENET: Never before in history have so many said so little so often. Hopefully, others will contribute their own candidates for sloganhood, and then we can all vote on it. Just remember, though; if one of my efforts doesn't win, I'm liable to use it as a signature line. :-) -- USENET: Never before in history have so many said so little so often. (See?) "netnews is a slow-moving parody of itself" isn't a slogan. it's the north/honey thesis. it isn't meant to be catchy. it's just the truth. north/honey
