<> Why is it that people's signatures are so often like this: Tom West {allegra,cornell,decvax,ihnp4,linus,utzoo}!utcsrgv!platzer instead of Tom West {allegra,cornell,decvax,ihnp4,linus,utzoo}!utcsrgv!platzer By putting a 7 or 8 line signature on the right side of the screen, us poor suckers who read news at 300 baud have to sit for 10-15 seconds instead of 3-4 seconds for the end of letter signature. It should be no trouble for people to left justify their signatures, and I am fairly sure that after the 200th right hand side signature at 300 baud, I'm not the only one to get a little annoyed. Just a little suggestion to make life easier for others. as you might of guessed Tom West

Does anyone know of a way to simply mail something to Foobar@Bletch and have the computer figure out a way to route it ? Certainly something could digestify the multiKiloByte maps we keep getting into a machine readable path list or some such. Why not generate a file of the form Site: path!to!the!site!from!here Site2: Another!path!for!another!site etc Then make mail (or Mail or mAil or maIl ...) smart enough to take it from there. Then my signature would be only 2 lines. (I feel I have to keep in a disclaimer) ? Since unix is supposed to be a hackers dream why not start hackin' While we are at it, how about a program for reading the mbox file in my directory and give me headers and let peruse any message in any order, lets write MM for this poor excuse for a user interface. -- -- Chuck - - - D I S C L A I M E R - - - {ihnp4,fortune}!Dual\ All opinions expressed herein are my {proper,idi}-> !intelca!cem own and not those of my employer, my {ucbvax,hao}!hplabs/ friends, or my avacado plant. :-} ARPAnet : "hplabs!intelca!cem"@Berkeley

Gee, Chuck, you mean you don't have software at your system that does either of those? Everybody else in the civilized world seems to. Maybe you're just not looking in the right places.... Have your system admin contact me and I can send him more routing software than he'll ever want to see! So there.
