Enough of this crap about hurting Big Ten schools, there is only one great team in the BT, the Fighting Illini from Champbana, ILL. Lou Henson is far from a great coach, everyone knows that, they do not have any superstars in the line of Michael Jordan, or even close. They lost Derek Harper to the pros, their center is only 6'8" and their cheerleaders are hurting, so why are they winning so much. It beats the hell out of me.... I watched them play the Purdue Boils and what a fun game that was. They destroyed them unmercifully. Altenberger is a young star, and he seems to be able to pump them in from all over. Bruce Douglas is a tough cookie and likes to hang inside and grab bounds as well as shoot from the outside, and Winters although still young, is awesome. No one player runs the team, they play as a team, and that's how you win consistantly. That is why Kentucky, Georgetown, Houston, and UCLA all suck doggie doo-doo, because they play to their big man and that's all. A balanced team of excellent players all under 7' is preferable to me over a team with a big, usually stupid center who can dunk and tip in rebounds. Look at Stuart Gray from UCLA, he is worthless, and ugly besides. When ever he gets the ball, he puts it on the floor to dribble and then shoots. I loved watching is 'awesome' performance against DePaul, something like 1 rebound and 3 points. But I digress.......... I think the committees will take 4 or 5 again from the Big Ten, with Illinois and Purdue ranked pretty high. This means that Illinois gets to play Robert Morris High School or whatever first round. Illinois has been in the NCAA's for the last several years, losing along the way somewhere, this year they are balanced and have a good shot at the final 4, that is if they don't have to face NC, or Depaul on the way. Let's here more from you folks about College Hoops, the most exciting sport in America today as we know it. Andy Kessler solar!ajk
