In the never ending search for truth, justice, and a 25hp outboard engine, I throw this one out for speculation. Last night on the tube, one of the local stations came up with an interesting twist to the Vanessa Williams saga. It seems that a New York Model Agency which deals in Black Models was approached by two men saying they represented the photographer Chapman. They wanted the agency to sign Miss New Jersey to a contract. They said, and this happened more than six months ago, that Vanessa Williams would lose her crown before her term was up. They intimated that they had some photographs that would cause the pagent officials to strip her of her title and that having Miss New Jersey, the runner up, under contract would bring in lots of loot. The ad agency owner, a former model, told the two to get lost. The tv reporter interviewed the agency owner and she seemed quite upset. They tried to get ahold of the two creeps, but they have gone into hiding and can't be reached. The tv people seem to think something funny is going on here since the incident happened more than six months ago. Could the whole affair have been set up by some money grubbers just to get Vanessa out so they could clean up? What do you folks think about this latest side to the story? T. C. Wheeler
