We don't like your style of play, your attitude, your > former general manager, your Celtic tradition, your ugly > green shoes, your fans, that grimy garage you call an arena, > or the gouged-up termite condo you call a playing floor. Frankly, folks here in New England LIKE the Lakers. We LIKE the Sixers. (Of course we LOVE the Celtics). No sour grapes here. When Boston meets Philadelphia or Los Angeles, we get to see basketball at its finest. We blame the losses or wins on the players and coaches, not the fans, the officials, the color of the players' shoes, or the arena (a lot of folks around here would love to see the Celtics play in a new arena). May the best team win!! If that team happens to be the Lakers this year, we won't blame Dancing Barry or Jack Nicholson. Philly really brings out the best in the Celtics. Last night's game was a thriller to the final seconds, when Bird thought he was Havlicek. The battles for the rebounds, the steals, the tight defense, the inside offense, what a game! Hats off to Cheeks, its a good thing the Celtics could win without stopping him. Of course, hats off to Johnson, Parrish, and Ainge too. (Ainge may be something of a cry-baby, but Abdul-Jabbar is the BIGGEST :-) cry-baby in the league). Last night's game (#5 Boston vs. Philly) should also put a lid on the accusations that the officials favor the Celtics, or that they favor a longer series. No one on this net has offered one shred of evidence that the officiating, or even the Ewing draft was fixed. I guess it always looks like a bad call when it's against your favorite team ... > I sincerely believe you Boston fans should try once to > take off your blinders. ... and your blinders are on. > but since i can't watch a celtics game without complaining > about something I think this guy traded his shift key for some blinders :-) > and there is of course the strong arm and long arm tactics of > m.l. carr and kevin mchale, respectively. How many times have you watched Boston play? How can Carr foul someone from the bench?? His strong arm tactics lately have been limited to towel twirling. And McHale's long arms don't violate any NBA rule about player dimensions. Welcome to the NBA, Lakers fans. Here's hoping it goes to double overtime in game seven at the Garden!!! If the Lakers lose it, please don't drown the net with your tears. > P.S. How about a technical foul for Barkley hanging on the rim? Must be referees biased toward rookies ... I counted four of these in game four. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ _TT /| |~ Mark C.
