i'm with a group in new york's chinatown that has been invited to the people's republic of china on a basketball tour. we are trying to raise money for the trip and one approach that we are trying is to sell raffle tickets. anyone out there interested in buying the raffle to help finance our trip? they are $1 each and the first prize is a video recorder. the second prize is a 13" color t.v. our club is incorporated and non-profit so i think that the $1 is tax-deductible. by the way, our team's name is the new york lemons. we have some pretty nicely designed t-shirts (a giant lemon shooting a basketball with our logo in the background). if anyone is interested in buying the t-shirts (100% cotton) we are selling them for $5 each (and if we have to mail it, the cost of postage). if anyone out there is interested in a raffle, a t-shirt, or has any other ideas of how we can raise money (or if you want to know why we named ourselves the lemons) you can contact me at: by e-mail: ihnp4!hou2b!dwc by phone: (201) 949 - 0827 by voice: danny chen thanks. p.s. we are a pretty decent team. our starting point guard has just finished a successful collegiate career as starting guard for a division two team here in new york (where he holds second place in the all-time assist list for that school). others have played division three ball and high school ball. although no one on the team is over 6'2", we have at least three players who can dunk the ball and we play a pretty mean half-court trap. if we don't have to face any 7 footers in china, we should do okay (may not win, but do okay).
