Hello again, everybody. It's all over: congratulations to the Los Angeles Lakers and their fans on their 1985 championship! The Russel curse continues.... The Lakers deserved to win the game today and the series. I am a Celtic fan, but I do think the Lakers are currently the stronger team, though not by much. With a healthy Maxwell (he was completely useless after his February knee surgery) and a normal Bird I think the story would be different, but that doesn't really matter. Larry is a mystery. After a tremendous MVP season, he has not been playing well for the last month and a half, starting with a serious elbow problem near the end of the regular season. For the last couple of weeks, he has said that injury and a couple of others (finger and ankle) were not bothering him, but he has not had his shot since. It is easily the worst slump of his career. Let's hear it for Kareem! He played a great series, especially down the stretch in the two games I had the good fortune to attend (2 & 6). He banged the boards harder than I have seen him in the last 5 years. Anyway, I enjoyed the series, even if it wasn't as bizarre as last year's.
