I wonder what goes thru McHale's pea brain when he gets upset at
being called on something. It ain't like he's smooth as silk. What
a geek! A clumsy oaf of a geek. I'll have to admit, though, Mr.
Finesse was at his best in game 6 when he fouled out. (Incidentally,
even if that was not a foul, he could have easily been called for
others they missed.) I only hope the rest of the country (besides us
in LA) saw him for the true sportsman he is. McHale, if I could
talk to you in person, I'd call you exactly what you called the
refs. I wonder if you Boston fans are smart enough to see how much
he embarrassed your team?

Well, they were right, weren't they?

Does 4 out of 6?

Now, it's time to rag on the pro-Celtic tone to the broadcasts. Let's
start at the top.

a) Dick Stockton used to announce in the Boston area. His wife writes
for the Boston Globe. And Heinsohn...! You mean to tell me there's
not a hint of hometown bias?
b) More than once did either or both announcers refer to the Lakers
as Celtics (so which team was in the front of the minds?)
c) EVERY single game, Heinsohn had to tell us all what Boston has to
do to hold on, to go ahead, to win, to come from behind, etc. Never
did he give us what the Laker strategy might be.
d) Heinsohn's tie -- green for the Celtics and blue(!) for the Lakers,
he really said that's why he wore it.
e) When the Lakers won game 2, we got to see the Celtic bench sitting
there (where's your towel, M.L.?). When the Celtics won game 4, we
got to see the Celtics celebrate. So which is it, see the winners
   or the losers?
f) After the Lakers WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP, who did Pat O'Brien cut off
in his lockerroom interview? Hint -- it wasn't a loser.

There are more, but the champagne fuzzes my memory. It's time to get
ready for the homecoming, Laker Day, the parade, Dancing Barry, the
Laker girls, and just to tee off you Beantowners, Jack Nicholson and
other stars.

Go back to your beans!
