our club is holding a farewell banquet for the chinese men's national basketball team this saturday, october 26 (they have been touring the u.s playing various nba teams). in attendance will be members of the new york knicks and philadelphia 76ers (they play their opening game that day). nba commissioner david stern will be the keynote speaker. there is also supposed to be someone from the new york mayor's office there that day to give a speech. we have about five more tables available. anyone out there interested in attending? tickets are $30 which is tax-deductible. in addition to hearing the speakers, the dinner will be an 8 or 10 course chinese banquet. the dinner alone is worth the price of admission (really). if you are interested, send me mail. danny chen hou2b!dwc disclaimer: you have to take the statement about knick's and 76ers attendance with a grain of salt. that was told to me by the nba office and i suspect that it really means that some knick and sixer representatives will be there (i just want to make sure no one gets very disappointed and blames me).
