George is not in a good mood this week. He had a mediocre week last week and Tuesday night, his Jackets only won by 10 where he predicted they would win by 18. Forty four games were predicted. George picked 21 of the correctly, missed on 14, and lost 9 to his spread. For the season, George's record is 92-34-35==161. His spread rating from last week was so-so at best. We've seen him do better. It seems that teams are winning the games, but losing to his spread by less than 10. Here's his record: Dates 0-4 5-9 10-14 15-19 20-24 25-up Total 12/09-12/15 11 14 10 6 2 1 44 Season 43 47 35 17 14 5 161 A new feature we've decided to add to George's top twenty or so listing is the previous week's ranking of each team that appears in the list. We hope that it might help you as should help us when we throw the names in the hat to see who will get the number one (just kidding on the last part there). Here's this week's list with no comment. George's top twenty (or so) - Week two 1. North Carolina Tar Heels (1) 13. Louisiana State Tigers (13) 2. Michigan Wolverines (2) 14. Indiana Hoosiers (16) 3. Kansas Jayhawks (7) 15. Alabama Crimson Tide (17) 4. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (3) 16. St. John's Redmen (19) 5. Syracuse Orangemen (5) 17. Iowa Hawkeyes (*) 6. Memphis State Tigers (11) 18. Nevada-Las Vegas Runnin' Rebels (18) 7. Virginia Tech Hokies (8) 19. Louisville Cardinals (15) 8. Illinois Fighting Illini (4) 20. Boston College Eagles (*) 9. Duke Blue Devils (9) 21. Texas Christian Horned Frogs (20) 10. Kentucky Wildcats (6) 22. California-Irvine Anteaters (21) 11. Georgetown Hoyas (14) 23. DePaul Blue Demons (*) 12. Virginia Cavaliers (10) 24. Clemson Tigers (22) The second ACC game of the season is this week. N.C. State has something to prove when they host Wake Forest on Thursday (State by 9). The holiday tournaments go into full swing this week and next. Friday night sees Georgia go to Nebraska (Nebraska by 9) and San Diego St at UNLV (Rebels by 12). Big game saturday is Georgetown at DePaul. This should be a close contest and George agrees. Two big name teams are going out to show the country what they really are made of before conference play (in one case at least). George is picking DePaul by a bucket. I'm going to disagree and say the Hoyas by 3. One more game. The new kid on the block is going to try to blow a big wind on the west coast on Saturday. Miami at UCLA (UCLA by 14). That's it for this week. We have over 30 people on George's mailing list of other picks and space is running out. This will be the last reminder you will see if you want to receive those picks. Just drop us a line at the address below. Once again, have a safe and happy holiday. We will get back to you next week around this time. Happy Hoops !! George P.
