	      GO SYRACUSE ORANGEMEN!

This team has the most underrated big man in the
country in Rony Seikaly (sp?). I've seen Seikaly play two
games and the guy is just a pure force out there. Against
Boston College, he had 15 points, 15 rebounds and at least 5
blocked shots. The next week I saw him against Villanova and
he had 20 points 15 rebounds and 4 or 5 blocks. He is a
sophomore who, I believe, was born in Lebanon and learned to
play in Greece. He is either 6' 10 or 7 feet, I've heard both
numbers. He is still refining his game as every now and then
he'll miss some shots down low by a mile. Coach Jim Boeheim
(sp) has got him playing super aggressively and it shows with
all those blocks and about three goaltending calls every game.

Everyone is talking about Pearl Washington going hardship
and into the NBA after this year. I see flashes of brilliance
from him, I love Syracuse, but I'm still not completely sold on
him. Last year, Red Auerbach said Pearl could play in the NBA then.

They have two excellent shooting forwards in Wendall
Alexis and Raphael Addison. Both have shots at the NBA. I see them
as Jamaal Wilkes types. Big, smooth and deadly.

I believe as of now, Syracuse is somewhere between
fourth and seventh in the polls, depending on where you look.
I think this is because they opened their season with their first
9 or 10 games at home against some chumps. They beat Villanova
at Villanova by 27 points, 80-53, but Nova isn't even a shadow of
what they were last year with all those graduations.

Being here in L.A., it's tough for me to get some
copy on Syracuse but when ESPN shows them, they look very
impressive. Look for this team to be in the top 5 all year
once they start playing some good teams.
